Fingal Senior Ladies v Howth

Monday 13th April saw the first Fingal Senior Ladies match against Howth. It was an extremely cold and blustery day and I'm very grateful to all who played, with a special mention to Jenny O'Hare who pushed her caddy car up the steep hills of Howth when her electric one didn't work.

The matches were a real joy to play. In Sutton the first team out was getting 3 shots. It went all the way to the 18th for a halved match. The second team getting one shot, went all the way to the 17th, but unfortunately the Howth ladies prevailed.

In Howth the first team out had 8 shots and had a resounding win of 6/5. Their short game was fantastic, with many long putts dropping and a wonderful chip in on the 12th. The second pairing had 7 shots and put in a brave performance but unfortunately lost 4/3.

In the end Howth got 5 points and Sutton got three.

So, it’s still all to play for in the next two rounds.

The atmosphere in both clubs was one of friendly competition and conversation with the friendly conversation continuing in the clubhouses afterwards where we all enjoyed very good meals. Many thanks to Ash and his team.
